Medications
Prescription Drugs – Medications must be in their original container and accompanied by the proper form from the prescribing physician as well as permission in writing from the parent authorizing school personnel to administer the medication. An adult should deliver the medication to the student health clinic or office, in the nurse’s absence. In so far as possible, medications should be administered at home.
Non-Prescription Medications – Medications should be sent to school in their original container with the appropriate permission form signed by the parent. Medications will be administered by the school nurse or, in her absence, by a staff member. Medications should be delivered to the student health clinic or office by an adult.
